Available Scholarships for all Undergraduate Programmes

The following scholarships are available for our Undergraduate Courses:

  • The Henley Business School Academic Excellence Scholarship
  • The Henley Alumni Bursary 2016
  • RREF Scholarships for Real Estate & Planning Undergraduate Course

All Henley Business School offer holders, who have achieved academic excellence in their A level or equivalent examinations, can apply for the Henley Business School Academic Excellence Scholarship, for any of our Undergraduate Courses.

RREF Scholarships for Real Estate & Planning Undergraduate Courses 

Reading Real Estate Foundation provides a range of undergraduate and postgraduate bursaries and hardship grants to students who will not be able to complete the course without financial assistance, as well as offering PhD studentships and graduation awards. These bursaries, grants and awards are funded each year by our generous alumni, corporate donors and fundraising events, and are administered by the RREF Disbursements Committee.

Available Scholarships for all Undergraduate Programmes

The Henley Business School Academic Excellence Scholarship


Henley Business School is keen to attract students who are expected to achieve academic excellence in their A level results but may find it challenging, for whatever reason, to undertake a university degree.

From 2016 we are offering two scholarships to students who have committed to enrol on any of our undergraduate programmes in Business, Accounting, Finance or Real Estate and Planning. (Details of these can be found at: http://www.henley.ac.uk/level/undergraduate/)


To apply for this scholarship you must complete and submit your application, paying particular attention to your personal statement. This statement should set out your academic and extra-curricular activities, along with a brief explanation as to why this scholarship would make a difference to you. There is no formal application form, send your personal statement in an email or as a word document attachment. This submission will be considered alongside your entry qualifications in determining the award recipients.   • You must be a Home or EU student to apply for this award.
  • You must be applying through UCAS as a new student, entering a full time Undergraduate programme led by the Henley Business School starting 2016 and have accepted the ‘University of Reading’ as your Firm Choice by 30th June 2017.
  • You must be entering year 1 of study and be new to the Henley Business School, UoR.
  • You should be expected to achieve academic excellence in your A level results, and
  • You should be able to demonstrate that the additional financial support would remove a barrier to further education.

The scholarship is £9000 in total. It provides £5,000 in the first year and £2000 in year 2 and the final year.

  • This money can be used towards local travel, books or accommodation.
  • The money will be paid directly into your bank account.
  • There are two scholarships available in 2017-18.
  • Payment will only be activated once you have successfully enrolled onto your chosen degree.

First, Second and Final year of Undergraduate study.

The Henley Alumni Bursary 2016


The philanthropic support of the Henley alumni community has created a new bursary of up to £9,000 over three years for one undergraduate student starting at the Business School in 2016.

The bursary will be awarded to applicants who can demonstrate significant financial need who will contribute to the diversity and experience of their programme, and support the aims and objectives of Henley Business School. A consideration of the wider impact of your degree on graduating will also be taken into account.


To be considered for this Bursary, you will need:

•  A confirmed offer on a Henley Business School undergraduate programme (excluding Real Estate & Planning courses) commencing in 2016
•  To have chosen the University of Reading as your 1st choice of study
•  To demonstrate a strong financial need
•  To illustrate how you will make a positive contribution to the programme and how you plan to use the knowledge and skills of the developed in through your degree.

To apply, please download a Henley Alumni Bursary Application Form along with your supporting statement, of not more than 800 words, with details of how you meet the entry criteria plus any additional supporting information.

Bursary applications are considered by the Henley Alumni Fund’s Disbursements Panel at Henley Business School and their decision is final and not open to discussion or appeal by applicants. Candidates who are awarded a bursary will be notified on 19 August 2016; those who have not been awarded a bursary will not be notified.


One bursary of up to £9,000 over three years is available for a Henley Business School undergraduate student commencing their course in September 2016.

The exact financial value of the bursaries will be determined by the panel. The bursary will take the form of a contribution towards accommodation in Year One (if in University Halls of Residence), with subsequent years paid either in the same way or directly to your bank account depending on your circumstances.
Bursary recipients will be expected to meet the costs of the remainder of their costs including travel and accommodation.

The panel will only consider applicants who are not due to receive any other financial support other than from Student Finance bodies or their family.

PwC and ICAEW Foundation Bursary


ICAEW Foundation and PwC have partnered to support talented but financially disadvantaged students on the PwC Flying Start partnership degree programmes. There are four bursaries available for the 2016 academic year.


To be considered for this bursary, you will need to:
• Demonstrate a strong financial need
• Apply to (and enrol on) the PwC Flying Start Degree Programme
• Complete an application form

There are four bursaries of £5,000 available, which will be made as a one-off payment in January 2017.

Successful applicants will be notified in July, the award will however be subject to achieving the grades and enrolling onto the degree programme.

Bursaries cannot be transferred to another intake or mode of study.


This is a one-off payment made in the first year of study.
