Julian Hilton-Johnson
Vice President, Corporate Relations – Europe, McDonald’s Corporation

Julian is responsible for developing the overarching media, public affairs, crisis management and internal communications strategies in Europe to support McDonald’s business in 40 countries with 8,000 restaurants, 1,400 franchisees and 430,000 employees.

Julian joined McDonald’s in 1999 and was appointed to the UK Executive Team in 2000. Since then he has held various positions in corporate relations, human resources and legal services in Europe, Northern Europe and the UK. He has acted as Chief of Staff to three consecutive Presidents of McDonald’s European business, as chair of the trustees of the UK Pension Scheme and as a trustee of Ronald McDonald House Charities in the UK. He moved to his European role in 2008.

Prior to McDonald’s, Julian held positions within Diageo at Burger King Europe, Middle East, Africa, and at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London and Madrid. He was previously a Research Assistant at the House of Commons.
