Student Support Fund
Learn more about the new Student Support Fund created by Henley’s alumni
Henley Business School is pleased to announce the launch the 2012/2013 Student Support Fund, which aims to help current MBA students who find themselves in financial difficulty. This has been made possible thanks to the generosity of the Henley alumni community who continue to contribute to the Alumni Fund.
‘The Student Support Fund will really make a difference to the current programme members who are genuinely struggling and will mean that the classes will be able to graduate together. This type of support from our alumni really demonstrates a strong sense of community and responsibility which is at the core of the Henley MBA.’
- Dr Richard McBain - Head of the Postgraduate Post Experience Programme Area
The launch of the Student Support Fund follows on from the Alumni Fund Bursary awarded in 2011 to an outstanding and worthy student from South Africa, who is currently studying on the full-time MBA programme at Greenlands.
Since 2008, with fewer companies able to invest in executive education during the economic downturn, we are seeing a greater number of executives investing in their career and self funding an MBA programme, whilst continuing with demanding roles. Inevitably, this commitment can cause significant financial pressures and can result in students having to withdraw from their studies. The Student Support Fund is now available upon application to those students who can clearly demonstrate the need for financial support in order to complete their studies.
Deputy Dean of Henley Business School, Professor Ginny Gibson, expressed her gratitude to the Henley Pioneers and Donors for their support:
“The Henley alumni community continues to play an active role in the future of the school. The launch of the Student Support Fund, helping those who need it the most, demonstrates their commitment to ensuring its success.”
