Change and the Squeezed Middle Manager

As organisations strive for agility, middle managers have a more important role to play as agents of change than ever before. Yet they often are under pressure from many directions. This event will help those feeling ‘squeezed in the middle’ to survive and thrive as agents of change.

Many managers feel squeezed by the demands of implementing change within their day job while continuing to deliver business as usual. No wonder, it’s a tough job: you’re expected to enthusiastically endorse changes, even if you’re not yet fully convinced yourself, and inspire your team to change. And being in the middle of the organisation is no easy place to be, with multiple pressures and sometimes contradictory demands coming at you from all around.

This workshop will help you to survive and thrive. It will clarify your change role (which is often poorly defined) so you understand what it takes for middle managers to be successful change agents. It will help you work through some common, but challenging, change scenarios, and it will introduce you to key behaviours for managing your team’s energy during uncertainty.
