‘Developing Your Customer Acquisition Channels’ Speakers' Panel

Building a successful SME business is tough and building traction or customer demand is the best way to improve the chance of achieving success.

The Speakers Panel brings together a number of SMEs which have developed traditional and new customer acquisition channels that have successfully generated customer traction.

In today's digital economy SMEs are building traction through an increasing number of customer acquisition (sales and communications) channels. These range from affiliate marketing to viral marketing and everything in between that includes content marketing, email marketing, public relations, salesforce, search engine marketing, social media and value added intermediaries.

There is evidence that SMEs only consider using channels they are familiar with, or think they should be using, which suggests that they ignore other promising channels. Also there is evidence that it is hard to predict the channel that will work best. This points to the need for SMEs to consider and test all the customer acquisition channels.

Many ambitious small businesses have scaled rapidly as a result of testing and working a variety of channels. This is becoming a strategy for success.
