‘Everyday’s a Schools Day … building a successful business from scratch ’ Jan Ward CBE, CEO Corrotherm

The Henley Centre for Entrepreneurship has created a series of talks to put the spotlight on leadership and engaging SMEs.

Titled ‘Talks on Enterprise Development’ will provide a forum for inspirational talks by SME leaders who share their personal stories of high growth SME businesses.

It is planned to attract speakers who will be able to not only talk about their story of growing a business but also share lessons they have learnt and challenges they have overcome that will be valuable for SMEs with ambition to grow.

This is the second in the series with a talk by Jan Ward CBE, CEO and Founder of Corrotherm, a supplier of high quality alloys to international markets working from offices in the UK, Australia, China, India, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, UAE and USA.

Jan Ward founded Corrotherm in 1992 and started supplying high-grade metals to the oil gas and desalination markets. Since then, Jan has built a global operation with a broad portfolio of corporate customers. In Jan 2009 Jan was named the UK’s most inspirational female entrepreneur, winning the coveted NatWest Everywoman Award which champions female entrepreneurs and in Jan 2015 was honoured with a CBE by HRH Prince of Wales.

This event will introduce you to the world of the CEO and the challenges faced by a leader in scaling a business at home and internationally.

The participant will have the opportunity to meet and ask questions of the CEO and learn from the lessons shared in a practical way that can be used by those with a similar ambition to grow their business.

All events are free to attend and feature a talk by an SME leader, audience Q&A and a catered networking reception.
