Description
Brave Conversations is a highly engaging, practical workshop. It provides an opportunity to rehearse those crucial, but difficult conversations.
This interactive and fun workshop builds participants’ skills and confidence in holding honest, challenging, brave conversations with authenticity and courage. The workshop uses professional actors to bring the subject matter to life and give the opportunity for realistic practice.
Objectives
•To give an opportunity to rehearse real-life situations in a safe, confidential and constructive atmosphere
•To introduce methods for defusing emotion, building rapport in a tense situation and a simple, but effective, feedback model
•To create a platform for discussion of best practice
•To build practical confidence in skills that can be used immediately
Participants will receive individual constructive feedback and coaching, and will learn through observing fellow participants practicing.
During the workshop we will work in plenary and in small practice groups.

Miles Cherry
Miles has over 27 years’ experience as a facilitator and coach. He started his career as an actor – and having been asked by the BBC to use his skills in a training room, very quickly realised the potential of using actors to bring corporate learning to life. He recognised that individuals have only truly ‘learned’ something once they are able to go away and practice that learning in real life.
One of Miles’ key strengths is his ability to work with, build rapport and challenge staff from all levels of an organisation, from shop floor to board level.
REACT: Acting for Business
React is a creative learning and development organisation that draws on the techniques of drama to help people learn in the best way possible: by doing...
Our events put experience at the heart of learning and turn theory into practice. We prepare participants for real challenges and conversations, building skills, resilience and flexibility, as well as the confidence to apply what they learn in their working lives.
“The course was fun, practical and energetic, I would recommend it to everyone! I have taken away a lot of new skills that I hope to build on, which will benefit not only my work but all areas of my life. It was just like being in a real situation. I just described the person I had had a problem with to the actor-coach, and I felt that I was talking to her”Attendee from a REACT session
