Henley Alumni Group London Third Wednesday Social Drinks & Pop Up Lecture January

Join us for our first social drinks and Pop Up Lecture in 2017 with the Henley London Alumni Group.

The topic of our first Pop up Lecture of 2017 will be; "got what it takes to be an Entrepreneur and build a business in 2017?  Be inspired, choose entrepreneurship!"

The first lecture of 2017 will be an interactive and engaging session hosted by BDO, Baker Street, in the Auditorium (Room 20/22) with the following speakers:

  • Jurek Sikorski, Executive Director for the Henley Centre for Entrepreneurship
Jurek will be speaking about the Henley/Reading Incubator, changes (current and planned) plus support available to Henley Alumni. Jurek works as a Business Development Lead and Executive in Residence at Henley Business School (HBS) and Entrepreneur in Residence at London Business School (LBS) where he mentors start-up businesses on a range of topics including business idea development, business model creation, customer development, talent acquisition and management and senior management team development.

Jurek is also business adviser to several start-up businesses and non-executive chairman of several small companies. He speaks on entrepreneurship and has delivered workshops including ‘I Want to Start My Own Company’, ‘Build Powerful Selling Skills’, ‘Key Account Management’ and ‘Develop Your Personal Brand’.
  • Ashley Dickson, BDO Director

Ashley will be speaking on how small yet ambitious “high growth potential” companies benefit from the earliest possible preparation for Private Equity and other forms of funding to help them blossom. She is a Director in the Transaction Services team, specialising in acquisition due diligence for corporate and financial buyers, vendor assistance and vendor due diligence, mainly in the technology space. Ashley has been advising on transactions since 2001, joining BDO in 2015, having been with KPMG in the UK and Australia. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2005 (ACA) and obtained a Masters in Economics and Accounting from the University of Edinburgh. In addition to her Practise experience, Ashley has spent a number of year in internal M&A at the Royal Bank of Scotland, Euromoney Institutional  Investors and Betgenius.

Registration will begin at 17:30pm, with the lecture to commence at 18:15 and finish at 19:30.
