You will be able to experience the typical learning dynamics of an Executive MBA workshop including interactive discussions and get to meet other potential students on the programme.
It will be an opportunity to meet Marc Day, Professor of Strategy and Operations Management, who will be sharing his perspective on the wine industry, in the form of a wine ‘taster’ workshop.
A key component of good strategy is adapting to macro trends impacting a firm’s industry. We will look at how organisations within the wine industry are doing this, given the changing macro climate globally. We now see the ability for some grape farmers in Denmark to grow varieties of fruit which were only viable at one time in Mediterranean climates, whilst South African and Australian growers are adapting to increased periods of drought.
Professor Marc Day is an experienced scholar, consultant and teacher in the areas of operations management and strategy. His particular interest is how organisations co-create value with suppliers, and how organisations configure business unit strategy using a capabilities-based perspective.
Professor Day invites you to choose your preferred bottle of wine (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and pour a glass from it, if you wish. We will then discuss some of the key issues the wine industry is facing, whilst at the same time learning more generally about strategy.
