The Henley Centre for Entrepreneurship (HCfE) at Henley Business School (HBS) is to run a competition open to all interested students (undergraduate and postgraduate) at the University of Reading (UoR) to be held during Spring 2016. The competition would be to find the best business idea and finalists would be invited to an event where they will present their idea a panel of judges. This event would also launch the Entrepreneurship Club for students, University of Reading alumni and external interested parties.
The objective of the competition is to encourage participation in entrepreneurship across the student population and in the process promote HCfE across the University and to simultaneously launch the Entrepreneurship Club. It will give students the opportunity to present business ideas that might be able to be commercialised. No prior knowledge of entrepreneurship will be required but students should be interested in pursuing entrepreneurial opportunities and capable of developing business ideas. It will be particularly beneficial for students taking a module in entrepreneurship to consolidate their learning and put theory into practice.
A record number of entries were received for 2016 and applications are now closed.
Five finalists have been selected to present to a judging panel in front of an audience at the final:
Lili Zhao (Big Shake Co)
Ross Murphy (Build Smart)
Jimmy Zhi Kai Poh/Dingyao/Emeline Chen Yue Xin (Kydra)
Alex Taggart/Josh Hardy (Rush)

Norbert Morawetz, Lecturer in Entrepreneurship, HCfE
