Join the Business and Technology Special Interest Group (formerly eBusiness SIG) for an evening exploring innovation in the Media on Wednesday 10 February.
Alumni and guests will consider new technologies and business model approaches in the media space and the implications they will have for TV, online content and other industries like fashion, advertising and training.
Taking place at the Olswang offices on High Holborn in London, our keynote speaker for the evening will be Jon Page, Head of Operations within the BBC Research & Development team. Jon is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the department to ensure that it continues to provide world-class leading edge technical research and innovation expertise, not only to the wider BBC but broadcast organisations internationally.
Jon will be sharing his wide experience of introducing and managing disruptive technology in a variety of industries. For instance he was directly involved in the introduction of Wi-Fi wireless recording at Glastonbury Festival, radically changing both the cost and nature of the coverage the BBC offered. His insights can be applied to many industries which can take advantage or be disrupted by new technologies.
The evening will begin at 18:30 and will include an opportunity to discuss issues raised as a group as well as more informal networking with like mined alumni. Tickets are £25 for alumni, £30 for guests and £15 for current programme members, with tickets including drinks and light refreshments. Guests and non-alumni are very welcome.
