In today’s ever faster developing world it may seem like a trueism to say that innovation is vital for businesses to survive and thrive. But how can you make innovation part of your business’ DNA?
Over 100 alumni and students gathered at 3M for the inaugural Alumni & Student Mixer event How do you make innovation part of your business’ DNA?
Attendees took the opportunity to explore 3M’s stunning new Customer Innovation Centre, which showcases some of the unusual solutions 3M has produced to solve customer challenges, from the classic Post-it Note to floating concrete and cutting-edge microneedle technology.
Wynne Lewis, Technical Director, 3M UK & Ireland gave an inspirational talk on the seven elements of innovation and how the company has made innovation central to its ethos.
“It was great to see a wide audience mix of both current MBA intake and people that have already graduated. For me the most interesting part was the presenter who stepped through the 3M approach to Innovation and some of the challenges they have (especially the huge portfolio of some 55,000 products they manage).”
Scott Wise (MBA)
Head of Solutions, BT Global Services
This event was made possible through the support of Sean Appleton, current MBA programme member, who facilitated 3M’s sponsorship of this event.
"We are delighted to have hosted so many Henley alumni and students at our new Customer Innovation Centre and be able to provide them with insights into 3M's culture of innovation and demonstrate our technology platforms.”
Marketing Manager, Oil & Gas Business and Advanced Materials Division, 3M
