Leadership Jazz NEW with Dr David Pendleton & Professor James Robey

Agility is one of the biggest buzz-words these days. But it’s also a business imperative. How do you develop agility, and quickly? Join this fun, involving and engaging session as we learn how to improvise and adapt our futures in a different and unexpected way.

Many leaders expect to plan carefully, consider alternatives and evaluate options. There are times when this can happen, such as rolling out tried and tested processes, downsizing or upscaling a business, or even opening a new branch or franchise. But, in a volatile world - with changes happening fast and unpredictably - many well-rehearsed leadership routines fail to produce the necessary agile, rapid and effective response. Carefully annotated and orchestrated symphony has to give way to jazz and improvisation.  In ‘Leadership Jazz’, we demonstrate dynamic leadership in action and the power of improvisation and adaptation in dealing with change. Using jazz musicians, we show how improvisation works, excellent teamworking is created and listening empowers accomplished professionals to work together flexibly to create great music. The metaphor turns into a practical business discussion to energise the top team and empower the organisation.
