Henley Business School will host what promises to be a fascinating keynote lecture by Sir Michael Rake, President of the CBI, on the evening of Monday 8 June 2015.

The topic of the lecture will be ‘Where Are We Headed Politically and Economically?’ and will be held at the Greenlands campus, Henley-on-Thames.

This event is the second keynote of Henley Business School's Engaging Business events programme this year, which brings together world-class academic experts and industry leaders to explore pressing topical issues. This year’s programme opened in October 2014 with a lecture from Baroness Dido Harding, CEO, TalkTalk Group.

Speaking just a month after the General Election, in his final month as CBI President, Sir Mike Rake will use his keynote address to give his unique take on the UK’s economic and political situation. He will look back on the progress which has been made so far and look ahead to the challenges which still remain – for both government and business, at home and on the global stage. He will also explore the solutions that the business community wants to see to help boost investment and prosperity across the United Kingdom.

Sir Mike Rake, knighted in 2007 is chairman of BT Group plc, as well as deputy chairman of Barclays PLC, and President of the CBI. He is also a director of McGraw Hill Financial, and chairman of Majid AL Futtaim Holdings LLC.

Sir Mike’s business advisory roles include his membership of the Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Group, the Advisory Council for Business for New Europe, and Board of the TransAtlantic Business Council. He is also a Senior Adviser for Chatham House.

Attendance is by invitation only. Please direct any enquiries to henleyevents@henley.ac.uk.
