Global research by the Kakabadse team at Henley Business School highlights that only 25% of boards and top executives come close to realising world-class performance.

This is deeply concerning. The effective governance of our society and institutions is vital, as shown by pension fund scandals and failed acquisitions that cost shareholders billions.

Professor Andrew Kakabadse has collated the biggest database of boards in the world, spanning 19,500 top teams and over 5,000 boards across 40 countries. This research informs the Board Directors' Programme.

This session will cover ...

During this information session, Professor Kakabadse will share insights including:

  • Why is tension in the boardroom so damaging?
  • What are the characteristics of a high-performing board director?
  • Does having more diverse boards make a difference?
  • How important is corporate, social and community responsibility?
  • What is required from board directors as 'guardians'?

The key takeaway will be understanding how boards and board directors can best add value.
