The Henley Partnership - 'The Challenges, Tensions and Euphoria of Mastering World Class Performance' with Charlie Unwin

This session gets you to understand what’s behind high performance, and enables you to understand, control and change your own mindset. Use these same techniques to develop high performance in your own teams.

The last 20 years have seen an explosion of research dedicated to the psychology of performance, much of which originated from sport before being translated into other competitive or high pressure environments, including business. Despite the growing body of literature surrounding personal performance, it can be difficult to ascribe personal meaning and structure to the messages we hear. Add to this the increased demand to ‘achieve’ rather than ‘develop’ and we quickly lose sight of the central ingredient to world class performance: deliberate practice.

Charlie is a performance psychologist and coach working with global businesses and Olympic sport. With a unique background as an academic, an army officer and a GB athlete, Charlie looks forward to sharing with you insights into how the essentials of personal performance can be utilised as much in global organisations as they are in Olympic teams. Join this session for a balance of theory, case studies, biofeedback and applied methodologies, helping you to master your own performance and that of the people around you.
