Henley forms a new Alumni and Development Advisory Board

A new Alumni and Development Advisory Board has been created to help shape and inform our future work, which will comprise senior alumni drawn from across all parts of the alumni community who can act as both representatives of and advocate for their specific groups.

The Business School has continued to develop and invest in our alumni relations and fundraising team. To help shape and inform our future work, a new Alumni and Development Advisory Board has been created and will comprise senior alumni drawn from across all parts of the alumni community who can act as both representatives of and advocates for their specific groups.

We are delighted to announce that Helen Gordon, CEO of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) and a Henley MBA alumna and Pioneer donor, has agreed to Chair this new board. Helen has been instrumental in helping the RPS pursue a new approach as an international membership organisation and, as an alumna, understands how Henley might adapt to the changing world of alumni and donor engagement going forwards.

The Advisory Board met for the first time in October in London with a group of initial members drawn from the areas where alumni activity is most developed including alumni from the MBA, Real Estate and Finance programmes. The intention is to extend the membership so that the all of the core programme areas are represented including the alumni from undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in accounting, business and management. We are therefore seeking applications to join the Advisory Board from alumni to represent these programme areas.

In order to support the work of the Advisory Board, a sub-committee will be set-up to bring together the alumni activity of Special Interest Groups, regional groups and the soon to be established recent graduate group, Henley10. Working closely with the Alumni Relations team, this committee will help to plan and co-ordinate events and support communication with alumni over the year.   The membership of this group will include all alumni who are taking a leading role in one of the above groups.

As the Advisory Board becomes more established over its first year, its remit and membership will be reviewed. The terms of reference ensure a regular refreshing of the membership, so if you are interested in becoming more involved at a strategic level in the future, please do contact us.

If you would like to volunteer for Henley but not in a board capacity, you might be interested in becoming an Alumni Ambassador Volunteer, getting involved in Henley10 or helping to run a Special Interest Group.
