Jack Haining reaches the Final of the MARS Future Business Leaders Competition

Jack Haining, a second year Real Estate & Planning undergraduate and Co-President of the Real Estate Society has got through to the final 10 in the Mars Future Business Leader awards. MARS have been searching the best universities across the UK to find outstanding future business leaders. They have been looking for a winning mix of personal skills, career motivation and an excellent academic record. The competition is open to students on any degree course at a UK university; MARS say "The process is demanding and only the truly outstanding and committed will make it to the last 10". The winner will be announced at the Undergraduate of the Year Awards in Canary Wharf London on 19 April. Jack said "I am thrilled to have been involved in such an exciting process, meeting like minded people from across so many UK Universities and getting to learn so much about the MARS business. I am delighted to have got so far although appreciate that at this stage there is very strong competition".

Undergraduate wins International Research Prize

Richard Fell, who graduated from Real Estate & Planning last summer has received a major award for his undergraduate dissertation. Each year Aareal Bank AG and the Real Estate Management Institute of the EBS Business School (EBS REMI) award the Aareal Award of Excellence in Real Estate Research for academically-outstanding research work in real estate economics. The winner in the Bachelor category was Richard Fell for his thesis "Deciphering mixed signals: do dynamic conditional correlations and cointegration tests remove or reinforce the case for listed real estate equities within the domestic UK mixed-asset portfolio over time?". The award ceremony took place on Friday, 22nd February at Campus Schloss Reichartshausen in Oestrich-Winkel on the occasion of the 14th EBS Immobilienkongress.
