Henley Business School has launched its first MOOC (massive open online course) - ‘Managing People: engaging your workforce’ – starts 12 May.
This free online course is aimed at those who have, or are soon to have, managerial responsibility in any organisation. Over its 9 weeks, learners will be introduced to management theory and psychology, alongside reflective practice in people management.
‘Managing people – and I mean as ‘real people’ not as mere sources of labour – is one of the most rewarding but challenging aspects of the manager’s job. The course will arm managers to deal more effectively with the challenges they regularly face.'
Dr Martin Bicknell, course convenor
This is an innovative move for Henley, being the first ever MOOC from FutureLearn on the subject of HR or business. The course has been created specifically to suit the online learning environment, whether on PC, mobile or tablet, and includes videos, articles, discussions, quizzes and activities based on the participant’s experience. By sharing their experiences, participants will also learn from other participants. Networking and interactive learning run throughout all Henley Business School programmes, and this is no different.
Our aim is to empower individuals to become great professionals and to promote good business practice and a strong sense of personal responsibility. This provides a new opportunity for a wider audience to learn in an entirely new way from a world class business school.
