The Informatics Research Centre is excited to announce the launch of Planet Informatics. This student-led initiative will provide a platform for virtual collaboration between current informatics students, alumni and BCS: The Chartered Institute of IT. Its mission is to educate, inform and prepare students for their professional careers. The launch event was opened by Professor John Board and included messages from Andy Mulholland, Former Global CTO Capgemini, and guest speaker Roger Marshall, BCS President. The founding student committee outlined their vision for Planet Informatics, focusing on four key areas:

  • Bridging the gap between students and professionals
  • Re-inventing connections with alumni
  • Exploring curious minds
  • Mentoring students

The initiative will be developed in coming months so please check www.planetinformatics.com regularly.
