MGIMO Russia visit Henley Business School for an Induction Programme

Henley Business School ran an induction programme for colleagues from its strategic partner in Russia - MGIMO University

Throughout the first week of October, Henley Business School ran an induction programme for colleagues from its strategic partner in Russia – MGIMO University. Professor Yelena Kalyuzhnova (Vice Dean, International), responsible for this partnership, led the working visit that covered all aspects of the teaching and learning experience at Henley Business School. MGIMO colleagues had meetings and workshops with senior managers of the school including Professor John Board (Dean), Professor Roger Gibbard (Associate Dean, Teaching & Learning), and heads of schools Professor Abby Ghobadian and Professor Kecheng Liu. They also spent time at the Reading campus where they were welcomed by the head of the ICMA Centre, Professor Adrian Bell, and by Dr Andreas Hoepner.

The visit wouldn’t be complete without having tea with the Vice Chancellor, Sir David Bell, and a cordial discussion with Pro-Vice Chancellor (Global Engagement) Vincenzo Raimo and the International Office.

With 53 languages taught at MGIMO, a special visit was organised to the International Study and Language Institute. Professor Ros Richards together with Dr Liz Wilding, Jonathan Swindell and Andy Seymour showed off the technical facilities used during the language classes.

Then a day was spent at the Greenlands campus meeting senior members of the Executive Education team, Steve Ludlow and John Wills, and the MBA portfolio team, Dr Richard McBain and Dr Elena Beleska-Spassova. Jilly Birks and Steph Caress are instrumental in making the Henley-MGIMO partnership such a success and they were on hand to explain the main administrative principles of time management that Henley Business School employs.

And finally…. MGIMO lecturers that contribute to the Henley Business School teaching provision received Certificates of completion for the Induction programme.

“The programme was intensive and full of interesting meetings and fresh ideas for future cooperation”, reported Dr Vasiliy Tkachev of MGIMO. “We learned so much and it was a pleasure to meet up with our Henley Business School colleagues”, added Professors Alla Dementieva and Galina Panova .

“There is much more to follow and the joint Pre-MBA programme is just the first step in this co-operation.” said MGIMO Dr Anna Tsibulina, co-ordinator of the Henley-MGIMO strategic partnership.
