9 June 2014
Professor Rugman and Dr Nguyen, International Business and Strategy, have contributed to the May 2014 edition of ‘Focus’ with an article titled ‘How Emerging Economy Firms Lose Money’.
Research by Professor Rugman and Dr Nguyen suggests that globalisation may not improve performance for emerging economy firms. They have studied the financing strategy of foreign acquisitions and its impact on the subsequent financial performance of emerging economy firms. By examining the capital structure of the firm, they have uncovered three important findings, which are summarised in ‘Focus’ and discussed at further length in the full article.
