REP's Undergraduate Freshers on Study Tour in Bracknell
7 October 2014
The Bracknell Regeneration Partnership organised and hosted a visit for Real Estate & Planning's first year undergraduate students.
This is the second time that the Bracknell Regeneration Partnership has organised and hosted a visit for Real Estate & Planning's first year undergraduate students. The visit is an excellent introduction to the many facets of the property industry that the students will be engaged with over their three years at university. For many of the students a 'new town' is not something they’ve encountered before, let alone the redevelopment of the centre of one. Strategic and detailed planning, design and development feasibility, funding, sales and lettings; these are all areas that our students will learn about and the Bracknell regeneration scheme is able to encapsulate these as well as the issues surrounding the management of a complex city centre project. The speakers explained the rationale for the redevelopment, highlighted the complexity of process (and the timescales involved!) and also the wider economic picture for the Bracknell areas as a whole. The feedback from the students has been very positive and we hope to repeat the visit in the years to come.
