Henley Business School has been shortlisted as a finalist for the ‘Management Team of the Year’ category at the Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards 2014.

Henley Business School has been shortlisted as a finalist for the ‘Management Team of the Year’ category at the Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards 2014.

Now in their 20th year, the Awards recognise companies and institutions that are successful in innovation and profitability and make positive contributions to the region’s economic community, culture and employment.

The judges were looking for forward-thinking and innovative management teams that demonstrated strong leadership skills and successful development of a business, project or venture.

Since the merger with the University of Reading, the Business School has become strong, vibrant and internationally respected, with an enhanced portfolio of programmes and over 20 new degrees. Henley more than met the judging criteria thanks to:

  • Successful integration of Henley with the University of Reading to create a truly global brand
  • Triple accreditation (AMBA, AACSB and EQUIS) enjoyed by less than 1% of all business schools
  • A clear strategic ambition to "empower individuals to become great professionals and outstanding business leaders"
  • Expansion into new markets including the MBA for Music & Creative Industries and South Africa
  • An impressive increase of student population, almost doubling from 2008 to 2014
  • World-class research and thinking
  • Development of strategic partnerships with international universities including Beijing Institute of Technology and Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto
  • A leadership environment which empowers colleagues to develop and deliver new ideas
  • Highly responsive student recruitment campaigns, including targeted communications and virtual tour for postgraduate study
  • Active enhancement of entrepreneurship education with innovative online learning and a Start-Up Boot Camp funded by Santander Universities
  • Impact on the Thames Valley economy through the development of students as a source of youth, talent and spending power
  • Excellent relationships with industry and professional bodies such as ICAEW, CFA, GARP, RICS, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, Institute of Directors, PwC, ING and 30% Club
  • Strong student community, including development of Henley Challenge competition – now in its third year

This year’s results will be announced on the evening of Thursday 20 November. For more information visit the Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards website.
