Forthcoming Alumni Events

A range of exciting events are open to Henley alumni in our 70th Anniversary year; we hope that you will be able to join us for at least one of them.

A range of exciting events are open to Henley alumni in our 70th Anniversary year; we hope that you will be able to join us for at least one of them.

On Friday 11 September keen golfers amongst our alumni community are invited to join us at Badgemore Park Golf Club for our 10th annual Alumni Golf Challenge. To celebrate a decade of the event, we are excited to open up entry to University of Reading alumni, current programme members of the Business School, and guests, in addition to Henley Business School alumni. The Alumni Golf Challenge is a fantastic opportunity to network, entertain clients and demonstrate your golfing prowess whilst enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Badgemore Park Golf Club.   Spaces are limited, so please book now.

Further away from Henley, the Henley Alumni Association in Malta are planning their annual BBQ and Bowling for the same day. The event is open to alumni and guests.

Alumni in Hong Kong will have the chance to meet Dean John Board on 14 September, look out for emails with more details about this gathering.

Later in the month, our Leadership of Organisational Change Special Interest Group will be hosting an event in London focusing on the difficulties of matching real life organisational change to the theoretic models for managing it. Make sure you join us on 21 September.

Accessible for our global alumni community will be the next Henley Alumni Global Knowledge Webinar on 23 September. It will be presented by Prof Jon Foster-Pedley, Dean and director of Henley South Africa. Booking will open soon.

On 28 September we are proud to be holding our next Women in Leadership Forum, this time considering the balance between mentoring, coaching, sponsorship and championing as conduits for women in leadership. Join us to hear the latest research, participate in a workshop and discuss with the panel and other audience members your own experiences of how mentoring, coaching, sponsorship and championing can help women to achieve and perform in leadership positions. A topic and event that should be of interest to women and men alike. Find out more and secure your place here.

15 October will see the next event for our Marketing SIG with a theme of Customer Behaviour and Customer Experience in the mass market. We are just putting final touches to the venue and programme planning. Booking will open as soon.

During the same month alumni are also invited to join us for a very special reception at the House of Lords on 30 October. Hosted by The Rt Hon The Lord Carrington, Chancellor Emeritus, University of Reading, this event is open to all Henley Business School Alumni, as one of the many benefits of being part of the University of Reading. Alumni can bring up to one guest, but there is high demand for tickets so make sure you book your place online.

Also at the end of the October alumni will have the opportunity to be amongst the first visitors of the new University of Reading Malaysia campus, during a special Open Day for Alumni and in advance of its official opening in February 2016. More details to be announced soon.

Looking further ahead, November will see the Alumni & Student Mixer, the Reading Real Estates Foundation Annual Dinner in London, more Special Interest Group events, the next webinar, and international alumni events with Dean John Board in Trinidad and South Africa.

Events plans for 2016 are also taking shape with two more Women in Leadership Forum events in the pipeline for January and June, as well as another Henley Global Knowledge Alumni Webinar under this banner.

More dates for your 2016 diary will include the Henley Global Masterclasses in May, our two and a half day programme of learning and networking at the Greenlands campus in Henley, which will be combined with a special 70th Anniversary Dinner for Alumni on Saturday 21 May.  More details and early bird booking for these events will be available from September.

Enthusiasts for the Henley Alumni Regatta events can mark their calendars for 1 and 2 July 2016. Details about the exclusive lunch and boat tours on the Friday and the fun friends and family day on the Saturday will be announced in early 2016.

Last but not least, throughout the year the monthly Third Wednesday Drinks in London will continue. These informal social gatherings are open to all Henley alumni, whether you live or work in London or only pass through.  The monthly changing venues are a great way to explore the UK capital and meet fellow alumni. Watch out on our website for the venue announcements and join the mailing list to receive the reminder email.
