Gavin Parker chaired election hustings

Gavin Parker, Professor of Planning Studies in the School of Real Estate & Planning, chaired an election hustings focussing on environmental issues in the Reading area earlier this week.

Gavin Parker, Professor of Planning Studies in the School of Real Estate & Planning, chaired an election hustings focussing on environmental issues in the Reading area earlier this week.

The hustings discussed issues and party policy across housing, transport, climate change and energy and featured many of the Reading Parliamentary candidates. The event focussed on the environment of greater Reading and was  hosted by the Greater Reading Environment Network (GREN). The event provided an excellent platform for voters to hear how their local candidates saw the future of Reading. The organiser from GREN said ‘we should take it as an encouraging sign that the politicians have so much to say on environmental issues’.

GREN brings together groups and individuals around Reading who care about sustainability, environment, climate change, conservation and planning issues.
