Henley recognised for its work in Islamic Finance

In a recent video produced by the British Embassy in Kazakhstan and the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) to showcase UK expertise in Islamic finance and effective cooperation between UK and Kazakhstan, Henley is recognised for its work in this area.

The UK has been providing Islamic Financial Services for over 30 years and Government policy over the last decade has created a fiscal and regulatory framework that encourages the growth of Islamic finance.

With more than 20 international banks operating in the UK and working in Islamic finance,  universities and business schools are offering new qualifications in Islamic finance to support this development.

In a recent video produced by the British Embassy in Kazakhstan and the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) to showcase UK expertise in Islamic finance and effective cooperation between UK and Kazakhstan, Henley is recognised for its work in this area:

"There are some great examples of universities in Britain which have done terrific work over many years in research and teaching in Islamic Finance… Henley Business School in Reading is doing right now some excellent work in that field."

George Littlejohn, Senior Advisor at Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI)

One example of this work is Henley’s MSc in Investment Banking and Islamic Finance, the first degree in the UK with Islamic material taught by Islamic specialists. Taught at the ICMA Centre, students are offered the chance to study in Kuala Lumpur and Reading and receive a professional qualification from INCEIF, the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance, in Kuala Lumpur.
