Alumni in three locations across the globe meet with Henley Business School Faculty visiting their region.
Alumni in three locations across the globe have recently had the opportunity to meet with Henley Business School Faculty visiting their region.
At the start of March, Henley's Singapore Alumni Association joined with other alumni in the region in welcoming senior faculty members to a drinks and canapés reception in the city. Professor Adrian Bell, Associate Dean (International) and Head of the ICMA Centre, Professor Roger Gibbard, Associate Dean, Teaching and Learning, and Dr Susan Rose, Head of Henley Business School Malaysia attended the event alongside Professor Tony Downes, Provost and CEO of the University of Reading Malaysia. Alumni heard updates about developments at Henley Business School, both in the region and globally, including future plans, ideas of how alumni can be involved and significant advances in the international rankings. In addition to these updates, Professor Bell spoke on several of his research subjects in a talk entitled 'Modern Finance in the Middle Ages (and some football!)’. Pictures of the evening are available on the Singapore Alumni Association’s Facebook page.
The same Faculty members also attended an event in Kuala Lumpur hosted by the Henley Business School Alumni Association in Malaysia. Attendees used the occasion to celebrate Chinese New Year by holding a dinner at the Inn of Four Seasons Chinese restaurant in the Holiday Villa Hotel Subang. During the evening, Professor Bell again spoke about his research, while Professor Gibbard offered an update on the School of Real Estate and Planning and an In Memoriam for Professor Peter Byrne. A key topic of conversation on the evening was the University of Reading’s new Malaysia campus, which is due to open its door to the first cohort of students in September.
Professor Bell also had the opportunity to connect with alumni in Dubai recently. A small group of alumni met for a relaxed and informal evening. As well as a short presentation from Professor Bell the group enjoyed drinks on the terrace of the Dubai Offshore Sailing Club. If you are interested in connecting with fellow Henley alumni in your area, take a look at our existing regional alumni groups or email email@example.com to find out how to set up a new group.
