Earlier this week Real Estate & Planning hosted a visiting delegation from the Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS), Beijing.

CASS was established in 1977 and is the premier research organisation in China within the fields of philosophy and the social sciences. It is also an influential think tank. It consists of more than 30 research institutes, three research centres and a graduate school covering more than 300 disciplines and over 3000 staff.
A team of senior Real Estate & Planning academic staff provided research training for the visiting party within the domain of their ongoing research:
· Big Data and Quantitative Research (Dr Anupam Nanda)
· Economics and Finance in Commercial Real Estate (Professor Simon Stevenson and Professor Sotiris Tsolacos)
· Planning, Sustainability and Governance (Professor Kathy Pain and Dr Anupam Nanda)
The diverse research training programme agreed with the CASS organisers demonstrates the breadth of interest from the Academy in our work and the opportunities for future Beijing-Reading research cooperation and engagement. The event was attended by Henley Business School academic staff and Postgraduate students with active research interests in China.
