'Winning at Customer Development' Workshop 13 April 2015: "Great Speakers, great workshop"

Supported and sponsored by the Thames Valley Berkshire Business Growth Hub and Santander, the Henley Centre for Entrepreneurship delivered the ‘Winning at Customer Development’ Workshop at the Henley Business School on Monday, 13 April 2015. The workshop, which ran for the full day, brought together a wide range of SMEs to raise their understanding of selling, provide techniques of ‘how to sell’ and explain the selling process from prospecting to pitching to overcoming objections and closing a sale.

Supported and sponsored by the Thames Valley Berkshire Business Growth Hub and Santander, the Henley Centre for Entrepreneurship delivered the ‘Winning at Customer Development’ Workshop at the Henley Business School on Monday, 13 April 2015.

The workshop, which ran for the full day, brought together a wide range of SMEs to raise their understanding of selling, provide techniques of ‘how to sell’ and explain the selling process from prospecting to pitching to overcoming objections and closing a sale. In addition, the workshop featured a new session on how e-competencies can make a difference to winning and developing customers.

The workshop included a range of practical exercises delivered by Jurek Sikorski, Entrepreneur and Business Development Lead; Stuart Morris, Entrepreneur and Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Dr. Maks Belitski, Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at the Henley Centre for Entrepreneurship, Henley Business School.

The Sales Workshop is to be repeated on Thursday, 18 June 2015.

 

The Henley Centre for Entrepreneurship will also be hosting the two further events in May:

‘Sourcing Finance for Business Growth’
Monday 11 May 2015

This event, which features a panel of SME leaders who have raised finance successfully, addresses probably the most important of issues faced by SMEs: that of financing growth. SME businesses, not infrequently, find further growth hampered by a lack of finance. They may also be unaware of the full array of finance options available, from private sources including commercial loans and angel/VC investment to government grants and other sources like crowdfunding.

The event is for SME leaders who are looking to raise finance now or in the near future and wish to make connections and learn more from those we have successfully raised finance.

 

‘Talks on Enterprise Development’

This is the first in the series of talks by CEOs of leading Thames Valley SMEs who will talk about their story of growing a business and share lessons they have learnt and challenges they have overcome that will be valuable for SMEs with ambition to grow.

The talk is given by David Griffiths, CEO & CCO of FISCAL Technologies, a world-class accounts payable forensics software provider and winner of the Thames Valley Business Magazine SME of the year 2014.

The Univeristy of Reading is committed to working with the SME community in the Thames Valley Region for mutual benefit.
