22 February 2016
On 22 February, the Entrpreneurship Society were joined by Jonathan Crook from Aldermore.
On 22 February, the Entrepreneurship Society were joined by Jonathan Crook, a credit underwriter with sponsors, Aldermore Bank plc, and Jurek Sikorski, executive in residence at the Henley Business School. Both were invited to offer advice and guidance to start-ups who are looking for funding.
A key takeaway from Jonathan's presentation is to inject capital as a seal of commitment, and demonstrate passion in one's business to facilitate lending from banks.
Jurek, on the other hand, shared his top 10 sources for raising finance. Amongst them are Crowd Funding (Henley Crowdfunding Platform); Business Angels (Henley Business Angels Network); Micro Loans (Princes' Trust and Virgin Startup); and Business Plan Competitions (IDEAFEST and Live Wire).
Overall students learnt that whatever the business idea, every entrepreneur needs to be clear about how much money will be needed and where to get it.
