Henley Global Masterclasses and the 70th Alumni Anniversary Dinner
29 January 2016
Will you be there? Early Bird prices for both of these exclusive alumni events are available until Monday 29 February.
As part of Henley’s 70th anniversary year, alumni have the opportunity to attend two very special events this May. Taking place at our beautiful Greenlands Campus, the events offer alumni the opportunity to reconnect with old classmates and re-engage with Henley’s world class teaching and research.
The Henley Global Masterclasses is a two-and-a-half day learning event exclusively open to Henley alumni. Eight faculty-led masterclasses will offer insight into how the latest cutting-edge research from the Business School impacts on the organisations that alumni work with. The topics of the masterclasses stretch across the full breadth of expertise at Henley and include:
- The Invisible Strategies of Creativity and Innovation which looks to unveil the structures, disciplines, strategies and flows of creativity and design that are often poorly articulated by creatives, but when understood can greatly improve the innovation capabilities of businesses and organisations.
- Energising the Squeezed Middle will look to demonstrate the way that leaders can re-energise the efforts of middle managers, who often feel unable to navigate the tensions and conflicting demands of interpreting senior managers’ intentions for change, and at the same time still deliver business as usual.
- Strengths, Success and Overdrive in Leadership will allow participants to identify their individual strengths as leaders, understand how those strengths boost their success and the success of those they lead, and recognise how those strengths can be drawn upon to identify solutions to challenges when they arise.
Described by an attendee at last year’s event as ‘A major intellectual event in the calendar that helps us understand how and why we make the choices we make’, the Henley Global Masterclasses will also feature two ‘in conversation’ sessions with alumni who have reached the top in their chosen field. David Roberts (MBA) will talk about the path he has taken to become Chairman of Nationwide, the world’s largest building society. Meanwhile Julia Massey (MBA), Chief Operating Officer at Nicole Farhi will share her 20 years’ experience working in the retail, sport, fashion and luxury sectors.
This year, alumni will have the opportunity to attend the full event or individual days, allowing delegates to tailor their learning according to their interests and development needs. Packages to attend all three days start from £350 (exclusive of accommodation); a breakdown of all packages is available here.
On Saturday 21 May, alumni will come together for a black tie gala dinner in celebration of 70 years of Henley shaping the future of business. Following on from the Henley Global Masterclasses, with alumni able to book tickets that include both events, the 70th Anniversary Alumni Dinner will be the perfect opportunity for alumni to re-connect with friends and classmates at the Greenland’s Campus.
We hope alumni from all decades of Henley’s history, and all programmes will attend to enjoy the evening will include pre-dinner drinks, a three-course dinner, big band music and dancing.
Alumni are encouraged to bring together classmates to organise cohort reunions at the event and are also welcome to bring one guest.
Accommodation for the evening, including a limited number of double rooms, is available when booking tickets for the dinner.
