PhD Hat Trick for REP
We had a rather busy day in Real Estate & Planning yesterday with three PhD vivas. We are very pleased to announce that all three candidates have passed with only minor corrections.
The students were: Nicholas Fielmua (on the left of the photo) whose PhD "Community-based management of small town water systems in North-western Ghana: institutional and performance analysis" was supervised by Drs Victoria Edwards and Richard Nunes; Senjuti Manna (front of the photo) who was supervised by Joe Doak and Dr Angelique Chettiparamb on the topic "Exploring Politics, Power and Practice of Sustainable Landscape Development in Contemporary India: A Political Ecology Approach Supervisors" and Linning Zhu (on the right) whose PhD "House Price Dynamics in Contemporary Urban China - A Disaggregate Modelling Analysis on City Level Supervisors" was supervised by Professor Michael Ball and Dr Anupam Nanda.
Real Estate & Planning's Director of Postgraduate Research Programmes, Dr Gianluca Marcato, said "This was an exceptional hat trick which was never before seen at REP ... and probably in many other universities! I congratulate all three students who managed to pass with minor amendments within time. This result clearly shows the drive and quality of our students and the strength of our programme, which is one of the biggest worldwide with 30 PhD students. I am sure the recruitment for next year's intake will take a boost as we have 6 PhD full scholarships available for Real Estate and Planning".
