Real Estate & Planning's second year undergraduate students took part in a Dragons' Den event today, working in groups and pitching their ideas for a property-related business to our fierce but fair Dragons! We had two “Dens” running with Ashley Dabson and Jorn van de Wetering taking on the role of 'Evan Davis' in each one.
Ideas included a "one stop shop" for services for older people, dedicated facilities for cyclists at railway stations and a UCAS style application system for internships. The Dragons were very impressed with the students' ideas, their business sense and ability to pitch so convincingly for funding. The Dragons also noted that the standard of presentations was particularly high this year.
Two ideas were chosen as winners - a crowdfunded property investment scheme and HR related software. Many thanks to our Dragons: Alan Carswell, David Duvall, Andrew Green, Susie Grey, Andrew Manning and Bob Thompson. For more photos of the event go to Facebook.
