Strong graduate prospects set students up for a successful future

Undergraduate students at the Business School are set for a successful future according to the new Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, which places all our subjects in strong positions for graduate prospects: Real Estate & Planning gained the no.1 spot in the UK*, with Accounting & Finance and Business & Management† landing top 20 positions.

We pride ourselves in focusing on employability and future prospects, continuously enhancing our careers offering which currently includes work placements, skills workshop, CV reviews, interview preparation and study abroad opportunities. Alongside the recent Glassdoor report on the best UK towns and cities to work in, which lists Reading in 6th place and other neighbouring Thames Valley towns highly, these results put our students in prime position for an exciting and rewarding career path.

Amongst increasing competition in the sector, the Guide also ranks all of our programmes in the top 25 in the UK for overall subject:

  • Real Estate & Planning: Ranked 2nd* and 10th** in two subject areas
  • Accounting & Finance: 24th out of 100 institutions
  • Business & Management†: 25th out of 120 providers

Our excellence in research and strong community of academics and practitioners, who use up-to-date knowledge and commercial experience to enhance their teaching, is also reflected in the results, including:

Top 20 for research quality in all subjects:

  • Real Estate & Planning – 2nd* and top 10** in two subject areas
  • Accounting & Finance and Business & Management† – Top 20

Student experience and teaching quality:

  • Real Estate & Planning – Top 10* and top 20** in two subject areas
Martin Bicknell, Director of Teaching and Learning, comments:
“At Henley, we are constantly seeking to ensure that our courses are relevant and our graduates have the knowledge, skills and attributes they will need to become great professionals and outstanding business leaders. We see our job as not only getting students through their degrees but also preparing them to make a contribution to the success of future employers. It is gratifying to see this reflected in excellent graduate prospects. As part of the University of Reading, we are also proud to sit within an institution ranked 32nd in the UK overall and 24th for graduates achieving first class honours and 2:1s.”
