Guardian University Guide 2018

Top 25 in the UK across all undergraduate subjects

Top 25 in the UK across all undergraduate subjects

Amongst increasing competition in the undergraduate sector, today’s Guardian University Guide 2018 ranks all of our subject areas in the top 25 in the UK, with our Real Estate and Planning programmes standing strong in the top 10

  • Real Estate and Planning*: 8th
  • Accounting and Finance: 17th, amongst over 100 institutions
  • Business and Management**: 25th, out of over 100 competing courses

The Guide is one of the university league tables used by prospective students to help them assess quality and compare potential courses before making a decision on where to study.

Graduate career prospects are an increasingly important criteria for prospective students when looking for courses, and we scored particularly highly in this regard with our Real Estate and Planning programmes ranked 4th in the UK and Business and Management subject area standing in 6th place. We are continually enhancing our careers offering and currently offer a range of services including: work placements, study abroad opportunities, skills workshops, CV advice and interview preparation. Results from the most recent Destinations and Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE 2015: HESA, June 2016) reinforce this, showing that 94% of our graduates are in full-time work or study within 6 months of graduation.

Our strong community of academics use up-to-date knowledge, research and commercial experience to enhance the courses we teach, which is reflected in our top 20 results for ‘Student Satisfaction with Teaching’ for Real Estate and Planning* (16th) and Accounting and Finance (12th)

Securing 15th position for Real Estate and Planning in ‘Student Satisfaction with Course’ and 17th place for ‘Student Satisfaction with feedback’ further demonstrates the quality of our programmes in this area.

Commenting on the results, Dr Carol Padgett, Head of Undergraduate Programmes adds:

These results show that here at Henley Business School we excel in providing our students with the skills they need as they start their careers. We are proud of our graduates and pleased that they have enjoyed their university experience. As part of the University of Reading, we are delighted to be in an institution that has risen for the third year in a row to be in the top 30 in the UK, out of over 120 institutions.
