Real Estate & Planning host the sixth annual Planning Futures lecture

Real Estate & Planning hosted the sixth annual Planning Futures lecture on our Whiteknights campus earlier this week.

A large and attentive audience listened to Professor David Adams, University of Glasgow consider the subject of ‘Transforming urban futures: How far can planners rely on property developers and investors?’ Under that heading he traced why more than ten hectares of urban wasteland close to the centre of Nottingham has remained vacant for over a quarter of a century, despite four masterplans intended to promote its redevelopment. His lecture discussed what kind of planning system is needed to produce strategic urban regeneration.

The event  was co-hosted with the RTPI and  sponsored by Barton Willmore, and  a networking reception was held afterwards for all guests.
