Students celebrate graduation success
A cohort of around 680 students celebrated their achievements and graduated from Henley Business School and the University of Reading this week in ceremonies held in the Great Hall at the University of Reading’s historic London Road campus.
Graduates from Henley’s accounting, business and management, finance and real estate and planning courses, now join a global community of over 75,000 students in 150 countries and will use their newly acquired skills and knowledge to excel in their careers and lead future generations of aspiring professionals to make their own mark in the business world.
After the ceremonies, students celebrated and reflected on their individual experiences with their families, academics and support staff at reception events.
Also at the graduation ceremony, Professor John Board, Dean of Henley Business School, presented Jonathan Shalit OBE with an Honorary Doctor of Business Administration Degree (DBA).
Jonathan Shalit is the Founder of InterTalent Rights Group, an agency which supports and represents household names across a variety of sectors including broadcasting, film, comedy, music, sport, digital, literary and brand management. Jonathan is recognised as an innovator and leader in the creative industries and, alongside his existing Honorary Professorship, was awarded an Honorary Degree in recognition of his long-standing contributions to the Business School and its students, which includes offering professional advice and mentorship to our students and regular involvement at our events around the world.
Professor John Board, Dean of Henley Business School, comments:
“Congratulations go to all our students on their hard work and achievements and I hope that they have enjoyed their time at Henley. We now welcome them to our worldwide alumni community and look forward to seeing them prosper in their future careers. It was also a pleasure to award an Honorary DBA to Jonathan; he is a friend and valued supporter of Henley and as a self-made, hardworking, business professional he is a strong role model to our current and future students.”
On being awarded the Honorary Doctor of Business Administration degree, Jonathan Shalit adds:
“It is a singular honour to be recognised by Henley and Reading with the award of both an Honorary Doctorate and Honorary Professorship. I am extremely proud to represent both these great institutions and am continually inspired by everyone I meet there, especially by those who help make Henley and Reading such global centres of excellence.”
