Careers team wins National Undergraduate Employability Award
The creativity and efforts of colleagues in the Henley Careers team has been recognised with a National Undergraduate Employability (NUE) Award for ‘Best University Careers/Employability Service’.
Now in its ninth year, the Awards celebrate the contributions of university employees, students and recruitment organisations in the employability market and are the only awards of this kind in the undergraduate space.
Awarded jointly to the Business School and University of Reading Careers teams, the judges highlighted the collaboration and creativity of the careers offering and development of industry and employer relationships. Their commendations highlighted three particular projects run by the Henley Careers team:
- Business Leaders Programme: Creative events designed to stretch students’ comfort zones and build confidence, including Lego Serious Play, Leading with Humour and Escape Rooms.
- Industry Insights: Talks and debates with industry experts from the world of finance.
- Monday Night Employer Panels: Question Time style events with students and employers.
Our University colleagues were also applauded for their Thrive Mentoring programme and Pizza and Prosecco networking events, and Alex Taggart, studying BA Business and Management, was also 1 of only 5 finalists shortlisted for the ‘Best Placement Student’ category following his time with Unilever.
Naeema Pasha, Head of Careers, comments:
“This Award is a true testament to the hard work of everyone in our team and we are buzzing with excitement from the accolade. We are continually looking for fresh and fun ways to engage and support our students and working with our University peers has helped us build a programme that will put our graduates at the top of employer wish lists.”
