Ben Van Den Assem is a Henley Business School PhD student in the department of Leadership, Organisations and Behaviour.

His research interests focus on coaching, leadership and mindfulness. He has teaching experience an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Lakehead University, Canada.

Ben has engaged in several training opportunities on the subject of bias, an important related area to his research and mindfulness. The training was titled 'Inclusion Matters: Adjusting your Mirrors and Managing your Blind Spots' (led by the Institute of Coaching in Boston, USA, 2020) and 'Understanding and Addressing Bias' (led by the Alberta College of Social Workers in Edmonton, Canada, 2020).

Ben has earned many qualifications; the most notable are in MSc Coaching and Behavioural Change (Henley Business School, 2019), MSc Evidence Based Health Care (University of Oxford, 2014), MSc Business and Management Research (Henley Business School, 2010) and an Executive MBA (University of Western Ontario, Canada, 2000). He also obtained a DBA from Henley Business School in 2012 and a PhD in Social Studies from the University of Hull in 1975.
