Isil is an Associate Professor of Real Estate Finance & Investment and the director of MSc Real Estate Finance Programme at Henley Business School.
Isil’s research interests are real estate finance (REITs, residential mortgages, option-based mortgage pricing, retail real estate), corporate finance, and housing economics.
Before joining University of Reading, Isil was an Associate Professor of Property Economics at the Queensland University of Technology. Before that, she worked at Ozyegin University Business School and Middle East Technical University and was Visiting Fellow at the University of Adelaide. Isil worked for the World Bank as a real estate consultant, led and collaborated in several research projects funded by the World Bank Group, European Union and The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey on the financialization of housing markets, financing urban transformation projects, housing affordability, the spatial analysis of commercial properties, and pricing fixed-rate mortgage contracts in inflationary economies.
Isil has widely published in several journals including Journal of Housing Economics, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Urban Geography, Journal of Housing and Built Environment, International Journal of Urban and Regional Research, Journal of Property Investment and Finance.
