Dr. Granit Almog-Bareket is the director of the Mandel Graduate Unit of the Mandel Foundation-Israel. The Unit partners with Mandel graduates over the course of their professional career to enhance their success and their ability to make a difference. Granit joined the Mandel Graduate Unit (MGU) in 2007 after graduating from the Mandel School for Educational Leadership, cohort 14. In her role as the director of program development she was part of the founding team of the Graduate Unit and took part in developing its innovative model and state of the art study programs. Today she is director of the Graduate Unit and continues to lead and advance the Unit's work for the professional development and success of Mandel graduates.
Before her studies at the Mandel School for Educational Leadership, Granit was a teacher and educator for 14 years, and directed the special needs domain of the community services division in West Jerusalem. She also coordinated the educational policy management program at the Hebrew University School of Education, as well as the educational forum program at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute. Granit is also the chairman of “Healing with Hope”, a volunteer based organization she founded in 2007. Through the organization over 100 volunteers are involved in giving educational and social support to chronically ill children in three main hospitals in Jerusalem. Granit holds a master's degree in educational policy and management from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a doctorate from the IAE Business Management School at the Sorbonne University. Her thesis focused on the impact of critical life events on the organizational vision of social and educational entrepreneurs. She completed her post-doctorate degree at the Sanford School for Public Policy at Duke University in North Carolina. Dr. Almog-Bareket is the author of research papers, has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at central conferences on aspects of leadership and management from original angles. As part of her work at MGU she has developed unique workshops focusing on developing vision and professional identity. She has had diverse teaching experience at leading universities in Israel and worldwide.
