Dr Irene Garnelo-Gomez is a Lecturer in Reputation and Sustainability. She completed a PhD at the Department of Marketing & Reputation, Henley Business School. For her doctorate she researched the interaction between identity and motivations in sustainable living, trying to understand the ways in which individuals are differently motivated to follow sustainable lifestyles depending on the expression of their identity. Her research interests include sustainable behaviour, consumer behaviour, CSR and social marketing.
Prior to her doctorate, Irene obtained a MSc in Sociology at the University of Aberdeen, with a Masters dissertation focused on consumption of Fairtrade food - comparing patterns of consumption between the UK and Spain. She previously graduated from the University of Leon (Spain) with a BSc in Marketing & Market Research, holding the Graduate of the Year award in her course.
