Karen is a coaching practitioner, consultant and academic working in the field of organisational change and professional development. Her coaching practice focuses on enhancing and sustaining individual and organisational effectiveness at points of transition and change. This may involve (re-)establishing leadership, professional and team functioning when working relationships are disrupted due to changing political or policy frameworks. Within that framework Karen specialises in how professionals develop the skills and presence needed to work with authority and bring about change in their organisations.
Karen helps to develop coaches through supervisory relationships, workshops and professional development programmes, including the Tavistock Institute’s Coaching for Leadership and Professional Development Certificate and Practitioner Certificate in Consulting and Change. She has also designed programmes to develop coaching skills in political leaders, and currently runs in-house developmental programmes for a number of companies. She advises on the building of coaching cultures in organisations and the evaluation of coaching initiatives. She is the joint author of Resource-ful Consulting: Working with your Presence and Identity in Consulting to Change (2014), and joint editor of Mind-ful Consulting (2009).
