Learning and development is at the core of Maddy's role - in order to effectively deliver Careers Education to our students, we need to be able to understand how people learn, develop and become engaged. Maddy comes up with innovative methods to capture students’ attention and explores how we can as a team deliver Careers Education. She also project-manages many projects, including the incredibly popular Business Leaders programme, which is a series of masterclasses designed to make extra-curricular Careers learning fun – including use of the Lego Serious Play method, Stand-up Comedy workshops and Entrepreneurship in Under 2 Hours.
Maddy is also a Henley Business School and University of Reading graduate, having studied BSc IT with Management – her dissertation focussed on technology enhanced learning and its effects on the elderly. As a result, she has become specifically interested in the psychology of how people learn and develop themselves – and currently she is undertaking the CIPD Diploma in Learning and Development. Maddy's career background is in Retail Management, having undertaken several management positions and running sales teams of up to 30 during busy periods. She then came to work for Henley Business School on the MBA Programme Administration team supporting students throughout their journey, which led to her current role in Henley Careers.
