Mark Dobson’s main research interests focus on urban planning and politics. His background in Geography focussed on issues of spatial justice, leading to research on the processes of gentrification in London and cultural regeneration strategies through a case study of the 2012 Olympics. His PhD investigates the effects of national planning policy reform and public sector austerity on local planning authorities in England 2010-16. This forms part of a wider interest in processes of neoliberalisation and public interest in planning, and the role and professional status of public planners.
