Biography

Director of Enterprise for the Centre For intelligent Places. Previously, I have held a number of Business Development and Senior Consultant roles including various other Sales/commercial roles in the past working across both the private and public sectors.

I am currently working with Academics within Academia as well as collaborating with industrial leaders within Industry, working again across both the public and private sectors. 

I work at all levels of the organisational spectrum to develop strategies in order to build business cases for academia and industry. My work involves me to act as an interpreter, mediator, facilitator and solution provider supporting a very wide and diverse set of stakeholders in order to simplify complex societal problems providing the basis for either follow on research investigations and or help with the development of new products and services for end user environments.

I have over 30 years of experience of advising clients in the UK, Europe, including ROW. I like to get involved with business related challenges as well as academic research. This involves me helping with research funding calls, research investigations, industry related challenges, and consultancy work. I like real variety in terms of all of the projects that I instigate and participate on.  

Academic expertise includes: Compiling research investigations, assisting with research projects, consortium building, including responding to funding calls whether they be RCUK and or EU related, and also working on linked multi-disciplinary collaborations working across academia and Industry.

Research centre expertise includes: Thought leadership around people, places, connections and use of ICT technology and various disruptive interventions as well as behaviour change. My work also involves working directly with end users to resolve problems and issues at the societal level.

Core Industry expertise includes: New Ventures, Strategy, Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Project Management, Knowledge Management, Innovation Management, ICT Technology, Systems, Data Led Solutions, Internet of Things IoT, Digitalisation, Start-ups, Spinouts, and Entrepreneurship in areas such as Education, Healthcare, Mobility and Transport, Property and Real Estate, Retail, and ICT Technology.
