Markus is a Visiting Professor of Brand & Reputation Management at Henley Business School. In addition to his role at Henley, Markus has been a Co-Owner and Managing Partner of Branding-Institute CMR AG in Basel since 2008, consulting multinational corporations and organizations as an advisor and innovator in the fields of strategic brand and reputation management, communications and marketing. He also serves as Co-Chairman of the International Brand & Reputation Community (INBREC) – the international exchange platform for senior managers responsible for the global brand and reputation of their respective companies.
Previously he has worked in a variety of roles within major global corporations, e.g. as Head of Global Brand & Reputation Management at Novartis AG, Basel/Switzerland and Head of External Communications at Bayer AG, Leverkusen/Germany. Markus is the author of multiple publications, among them his book “Generating Trust via Corporate Reputation”, and is a frequent keynote speaker at many public and in-company seminars and conferences around the world. Markus is a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), conferred in 2011 by University of Basel/Switzerland, faculty of business psychology, for his empirical research in corporate reputation measurement. He also holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Political Science from the University of Cologne/Germany and University of Reading/UK.
