Landscape architecture; Sustainable development; Political ecology and urban development in contemporary India
Senjuti’s primary research interest lies in the contested terrain of sustainable development under the influence of socio-economically globalized world. She is particularly interested in the theoretical and empirical developments of holistic sustainable approaches pertaining to landscape architecture and planning. Currently she is holding a studentship at the School of Real Estate and Planning and her PhD aims at producing an understanding of the process of sustainable landscape design in contemporary India’s urban development context, which is undergoing dramatic restructuring after the country’s economic liberalization.
Senjuti holds a first class B.Arch degree in Architecture (1993-1998) from Anna University, Chennai, India and a first class with distinction M.L.Arch degree in Landscape Architecture (2001-2003) from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, India.
