What you need to know
Overview
Develop AI‑literate leaders who can turn AI investment into a responsible business advantage
AI changes how organisations lead, not just how they operate. Leaders who can connect technology to strategy, people, governance and purpose are now essential as AI becomes embedded across organisations.
AI Leadership – Developing AI Strategy is a Level 5 apprenticeship unit designed for individuals in, or aspiring to, leadership roles with responsibility for AI direction, governance and oversight. It builds their confidence, judgement and strategic capability to lead AI adoption responsibly, making evidence-based investment decisions and aligning AI adoption with organisational goals, values and risk appetite.
Rather than focusing on technical delivery or coding, this apprenticeship unit develops leadership judgement in an AI‑enabled world. It helps organisations move beyond experimentation towards value‑driven AI adoption, led by those with the authority to set direction and coordinate change across the organisation.
Who is it for?
For leaders and aspiring leaders accountable for AI direction, governance and decision-making
This apprenticeship unit is for those who shape, or aspire to shape, organisational decisions, strategy and direction for AI use, rather than building or coding AI systems themselves.
It is ideally suited to leaders and aspiring leaders who:
- Influence organisational or functional strategy
- Make evidence-based decisions about AI investment, risk and priorities
- Are accountable for performance, governance and organisational impact
- Lead people and organisational change
Outcomes and benefits
